“Back Home” is an album with songs dedicated to self-love and freedom and is a follow-up to Wendy and DB’s successful, 2023 Grammy Nominated Album, “Into The Little Blue House”. “Back Home” is a collection of acoustic performances celebrating traditional blues roots music through originally crafted songs for young souls and anyone who enjoys learning about blues and its traditions.

“Wendy and DB have fashioned a fantastic follow-up to their 2023 Grammy-nominated album Into The Little Blue House. Back Home builds upon the bluesy mood of Blue House on its 15 excellent tracks, which are full of down-home charm and thoughtful messages. The album overflows with uplifting lyrics that urge listeners (young and old alike) to believe in yourself, to work for a better tomorrow and the importance of freedom. “Butterflies Are Free/Muhammad Ali” is a particularly exquisite tune as it weaves together the life of butterflies and the life of Muhammad Ali (well-known for his “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee” saying) to convey the idea of (non-violently) fighting for freedom. The jaunty “Moving Mountains” is another standout track that references real-life heroes like Dr. Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks as examples of the important things that a person can do to “move mountains.” There are plenty of fun moments here too. “Move The Bones” is a bluesy dance number that also gives a lesson on our skeletal structure, while “Hemingway the Wonderdog” highlights the unconditional joy a dog can bring into your life. Similarly, a relaxed, back porch acoustic cover of Bob Dylan’s “Watching The River Flow” touches upon finding a happy place in an often disagreeable world. In fact, Wendy and DB consistently provide listeners with a happy place on their wonderful Back Home.”
